Operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested two suspects for alleged illegal distribution of vape products and for raping his 15-year-old daughter in Quezon City on Wednesday, April 19, and Thursday, April 20.
The QCPD-District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) identified the suspect as Ejjeih Caldeo Go, 30, a resident of Barangay Immaculate Concepcion, Quezon City.
Police received a report from Rhadie Reynald Perez Caccam of ODSI Assured System and Services Corporation, the official distributor of RELX vape products in the country, about an alleged illegal distribution of their products.
On April 14, the DSOU, along with the complainant and a confidential informant, conducted a test-buy operation and successfully bought assorted vape products worth P44,300 from the suspect.
The DSOU then launched an entrapment operation and arrested Go at the parking area of No. 457 Bright City Center Building, E Rodriguez Sr. Avenue, Barangay Immaculate Concepcion, Quezon City at about 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
They recovered assorted vape products worth P130,000 from the suspect.
A vape is a combination of non-tobacco containing e-liquids or refills and an electronic device that produces aerosol, vapor, or mist which were inhaled by users to mimic the act of smoking, according to the Department of Health.
Go will be charged for violation of Republic Act (RA) 8293 the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines, the QCPD said.
